The Private nature reserve of Molino Helvetia, is located in the hills that are part of the Sierra Madre.It is located 88 km from Guatemala City, 5 km from Tecpán Chimaltenango, and 8 km from the archaeological site of Iximché.Molino Helvetia has belonged to a family business since 1924 as a wheat mill and operated as such until 2005. In 2008, it was decided to build a complex of houses called Casa Xara to share the nature reserve with the rest of the country.“Xara” is the Kaqchikel name of a bird that inhabits this region.The abundance of this species in our forests inspired the commercial logo for our flour products and for the tourist area.
